Centring Star Diagnostic: how your answers are handled

The Centring Star Diagnostic asks you to rate yourself on things most people do not put in writing at work: how you hold your values under pressure, how you handle your own emotions, how you read a situation, how you move with other people. Your answers come with your name and your email address. This page sets out who sees them, where they go, how long I keep them, and what I will never do with them.

Who sees your answers

Your individual report goes to you, and it is yours. If you want to show it to your manager, a coach, or anyone else, that is your decision to make, and yours alone.

My assistant, who supports the administration of the diagnostic under a confidentiality agreement, can also see the records and reports the automation produces. No one else sees your individual answers or your individual scores.

If your team or your organisation has arranged the diagnostic for a group, this is what they receive: a group report built from averages across the whole group. It carries no names, no individual scores and no individual reports. Your manager does not see your report. Neither does the person who arranged the program.

I do not produce a group report for fewer than five people, and I do not break a group down by role, team, tenure or any other grouping of fewer than five. Below that number, individual answers can be worked out by elimination.

What I use them for

  • To produce your report, which is emailed to you.
  • To compare against your earlier results if you complete the diagnostic again, so you can see what has shifted.
  • To talk with you about your report, if you would like that.
  • Where a group has arranged the diagnostic, to produce the group report described above.

Your scores are calculated by fixed formulas from your answers. The written sections of your report come from a library of text I wrote, selected by your scores. No AI scores your answers or writes your report.

What this is, and what it is not

The diagnostic is a self-assessment development tool. You are rating yourself, and the result is a picture of how you see yourself today. It is not a psychometric test, not a clinical assessment, and not a measure of your performance or your potential. It is not designed for decisions about hiring, promotion, performance or pay, and I will not take part in using it that way.

What I will never do

  • Give your individual report or your individual scores to your employer, your manager, or whoever arranged the program. Your report is yours to share, or not.
  • Name you, or describe you in a way that could identify you, in anything I publish, present or discuss, without your written permission.
  • Sell your information or pass it on.
  • Allow your answers to be used to train AI models.

Where your information goes

The diagnostic runs on a small number of established services. Each one holds only what it needs.

  • Typeform runs the questionnaire. It holds your answers until they reach my records, and I then delete them from Typeform.
  • Google Sheets and Google Drive, in my business Google account, hold your answers, your scores and your report. This is my main record.
  • Zapier moves your answers between these services and keeps a short run history.
  • Microsoft 365 sends your report to you by email.
  • Automate CRM, my client records system, holds your name, email address and which emails you have asked for. It does not hold your answers or your scores.
  • Claude, made by Anthropic, is the AI tool I use for analysis, as described below.

Several of these services store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Europe. My assistant also works outside Australia.

How I use AI

No AI is involved in scoring your answers or producing your report. I use Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, as a working tool when I look across responses to understand patterns. This is how I use it:

  • Before I bring responses into Claude, I remove names and email addresses.
  • When I prepare for a conversation with you about your own report, Claude may see that report.
  • I use my own paid account, set so that my conversations are not used to train Anthropic’s models.
  • Information is encrypted when it travels to and from Anthropic. Anthropic is a United States company.
  • When a piece of analysis is finished, I delete the working conversations. Anthropic then removes them from its systems within 30 days.
  • Claude does not make judgements about you. The analysis and any conclusions are mine.

How long I keep it

I keep your answers and your report for five years from the last time you complete the diagnostic. The reason it is that long is the comparison: if you complete it again, your earlier results are what the new report measures against. After that I delete them, or permanently remove anything that identifies you. You can ask me to delete them sooner, and I will. The email that carried your report stays in my email records as normal business correspondence.

Your choices

  • You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it.
  • You will only receive my regular updates if you ticked the box asking for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Email me at susanne@lebout.com.au. I will reply within ten business days.

Changes to this notice

This diagnostic was called the Centred Leadership Diagnostic until 3 November 2026. The name changed, and nothing about how your answers are handled changed with it. If you completed it under the old name, this is the notice that applies to your answers.

I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
